Description Inspired by nineteenth-century classics, these hats and booties are the height of fashion today. I have always loved the magical, historical European look of classic newsboy and muffin hats for babies, as well as high-button shoes. With this collection, it’s easy and fun to create these classics in crochet for showers, baby gifts and even for dressing collectible baby dolls. Baby boys will be dapper in the newsboy hat and high-button shoes, while baby girls will win hearts in either the muffin hat and ankle-strap shoes, or the lace bonnet and matching lace booties. 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” pattern booklet Size Pattern is written for size newborn through 12 months. Materials For items shown (newborn size), I chose Lion Brand Baby Soft in traditional pink, blue and white and used a size G hook. Larger sizes can be made using the DK weight and soft worsted-weight yarns and sizes G and H hooks. These are adorable made with any pastel yarn; or if you prefer, you can achieve an especially old-fashioned look using colors like navy, tan, brown, ecru, burgundy and even black. |
