Description If you haven’t tried felting, these handbags are a great first felting project. Why is it so much fun to crochet a big item, toss it in the washer and see it shrink down to a dense, thick, very pretty thing? Perhaps it brings back memories of Shrinky Dinks. Perhaps it feels like payback for all the times we’ve babied our handmade creations, careful to never, ever wash them in hot water, much less the (gasp) washing machine! Whatever the reason, it’s great fun, and the results are gorgeous. Have fun felting with these whimsical floral handbags. Choose several pretty colors of 100% wool worsted-weight yarn, then crochet bags, flowers and leaves with a size N hook. Felt using your washing machine for a beautiful finished result. 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” pattern booklet Size Rectangular handbag is about 6” high, 10” wide and 4” deep at base. Round-base handbag shown is about 7” high, 5” across at base. Formulas are given for figuring out felting shrinkage to make any size bag.
