Gwendolyn Doll |
|
Description Gwendolyn is pure whimsy with her striped legs, entrelac skirt, fuzzy hair and pointy boots. She’s great fun to make with worsted-weight yarns highlighted with a dash of eyelash yarn for hair. Most crocheters with a bit of experience making dolls and toys can make this doll in one day or a couple of evenings. Gwendolyn is the first in my new series of artistic, creative dolls. I've always felt such a sense of empowerment and happiness creating unusual dolls and I hope you will feel the same. Make her for a special friend, a daughter, a mother, or just for yourself! Note: Entrelac is an essentially Tunisian crochet technique that can be done with a regular crochet hook because there are only a few loops at a time on the hook. The skirt is entrelac but the rest of the doll is ordinary crochet. 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” pattern booklet Size 17” tall Skill level Intermediate Materials I used good old Red Heart Super Saver and Classic to make Gwendolyn, with a little Fun Fur for her hair. I chose not to put color names and numbers on the first printing of the pattern because I wanted people to feel free to make her with whatever they have, or whatever they wanted. However, to be complete I’ll add these to the next printing. I hope you will change the colors partially, or entirely, as your whim (and your stash) suits you :) Red and yellow doll colors: |
